Choosing the Right Oak Vanity Unit

Choosing the right oak vanity unit starts with the size of your bathroom, the storage you need and your preferred basin style. Our handmade vanity units are available in a range of widths, from compact single-basin designs to larger double vanity units, with many models also available in custom sizes.

Choose from countertop or undermounted basins, solid oak or quartz countertops, a selection of oak finishes and a range of handles and taps to create a vanity that suits your bathroom.

Countertop or Undermounted Basin?

Our oak vanity units can be configured for either countertop or undermounted basins, depending on the style and layout of your bathroom.

Countertop basins sit above the worktop and work particularly well with tall basin mixers or wall-mounted taps. Undermounted basins sit beneath the countertop for a cleaner, more integrated appearance and can be paired with wall-mounted or deck-mounted taps.

We offer both configurations across many of our vanity designs, with quartz countertops cut specifically for your chosen basin and tap arrangement.

Handmade Solid Oak Bathroom Furniture

Every Furnewal oak vanity unit is individually handmade to order in our Sussex workshop using carefully selected solid British and European oak. Our furniture is made using traditional woodworking machinery and hands-on cabinetmaking techniques, rather than CNC or computer-controlled manufacturing.

From preparing the raw oak through to joinery, assembly, sanding and finishing, each piece is worked on individually by hand. Solid oak dovetailed drawers and high-quality modern hardware combine traditional craftsmanship with the durability and practicality required for everyday bathroom use.

Because natural oak varies in grain, colour and character, no two Furnewal vanity units are exactly alike. Each piece is individually made and finished to order, with a choice of oak finishes to suit your bathroom.
